RSS -Games Spiders up again.

It was pointed out to me today that the game spiders were down and have been for some time. I have got them back up again and everything should be working as normal.

The Bungie levels will still be unavailable until I have a chance to update the code, Bungie changed the page structure, so the levels display here will not work and RealLife™ is taking most of my time right now. I will update that as I have time.

Thanks to killzoned and a few others, I have finally been able to squish a nasty bug that made it nearly impossible to use the site. The bug garbled the login cookie and threw a A cookie was set, but it is invalid, Please login again. error. This should be all taken care of now, so please give it a shot and let me know if any issues persist.

I was quite amazed that only a few people seemed speak up about this issue, as many were affected.

Also, the DNS move has eben completed, so please update your bookmarks to www.haloader.com. halo2.jaian.com will still be accessible as long as it needs to be for those slow adopters.

Just a quick note-

We are currently moving all our sites to our own DNS servers. Some things may not work during the next 48 hours. This shouldn't effect anything on the game update side, but you never know.

Also, I will be phasing out the halo2.jaian.com domain. Once the DNS move is finished, the site will be best accessable through www.haloader.com. I will set up a forward in the meantime so no one will be "bounced".

Please do not bother me with "link exchanges" and "banner cross-linking" crap. I have fielded entirely too many of these over the past few months...

If you want me to replace my Google ads with you banner, then be prepared to pay me.
Everyone knows, this is a free site, and the ads/donations are the only thing keeping it up...

If I linked every Halo forum (yes, there are like 92387400234987) then the page would be even slower, the experience would suck, and I would not be happy.

Feel free to link to HALOader as many others have, but please don't bother me about linking to your site... you don't go asking Bungie to link you do you? Yes I know HALOader < Bungie, but once again, HALOader is not a portal, it is a place to see your stats.

If any links ever show up here, they most likely will be to other stats sites.

Someday, I may add a "Friends of HALOader" page, but I don't think it is necessary right now, and I don't honestly have time to put it together right now.

As some of you may have noticed, I have been a bit absent lately. I recently took a full-time job which is taking first priority I have no plans to stop development on HALOader, it just may be slow for a bit. In fact, I have started working on version 2 *oops, that's a secret*, HLv2 will have most of the same functionality and more, it just may be a long time coming. The main purpose of the rewrite is that HLv1 is very old "toothpicks and superglue" type code, so it certainly needs a cleanup. The second reason is to prepare the framework for HLv3 (betcha can't guess which game that' for...) I think we all knew that Halo 3 would be announced at E3, so I had already started planning on HLv2/v3. I am currently in talks with another stat site about combining efforts for Halo 3 endeavors, but nothing is set in stone as of yet.

As far as things on the site are concerned... I still need your help on modder/cheater identification. I especially don't have time at the moment to be able to police the leaderboards. I continue to review gamer profiles that are PM'd to me, it may just take me a few days.

One more thing... many of you may not know that your account becomes inactive after 30 days with no login. This means that after 30 days, your stats will still be available, you will just be losing some games. Obviously I can only recommend that you visit the site once a month. If you do happen to go past 30 days, it's ok, there is no reactivation process, just sign in and you will be reactivated.

That's about all for now... off to kill me some Master Chiefs...

Well, here we go again, Qwest, our ISP, sucked the life out of the intarwebs yet again. Once again, I called them to find out what the problem was, and once again, they had no clue. Looks like only about an hour and a half or so, which means things should be back to normal.

Tonight at about 7:30pm CT out ISP/line provider (Qwest) decided to go and break the intarwebs... in the entire state... Luckily I was here to call Tech Support very quickly, only to be told that I was screwed....

After a couple of hours of trying to get the site back up.. I called again, only to get the most retarded tech support rep EV4R! Long story short.... the only IP she should be talking about is when she says to her dumb ass husband... "I P.. then we can go to the monster truck rally".

As far as stats updates, it all depends on how many games that you played between 7:30pm and 4:00am CT. If it's more than 25, then unfortunately you will have some games lost. There is no easy way to get these games after they are off the RSS feed. On the other hand, if you partied your Paddy off tonight and didn't play 25 games, then you are all good

I have added a little gamertag rating system to the site... I have wanted to do this for awhile, so I finally got around to doing it. It's pretty simple.. rate the tag you see

We have around 1.5 million gamertags right now, so, you may not see some averages for a while In a week or so, I will probably work out a leaderboard or something for the gamertags, as well as a G.I.F.T. board for the modders. If you are not familar with G.I.F.T., I suggest a Google search

I have implemented some controls for modders... finally, to keep them off the leaderboards. I need your help though, if you find someone who is a modder, please PM me here with their ID so I can take care of them. I have already flagged a couple of them and will be keeping my eye out as things progress.

Just becuase you send me an ID, don't expect them to be flagged, I will check the player out first and determine for myself if they are or not.

Note: This will not disable the HALOader account! it will only remove a modder from the leaderboards!

I have deleted all the new users that have not validated in the past 6 days, if you were one of these users, you can now signup again if you would like. I will be deleting all new accounts that do not validate within 5-6 days of signing up... I know the site has slowed to the point of being unable to keep up on the updates, so that is my main priority, then I am also speeding up some of the main interface elements.
