I was going to post a topic announcing that rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated, but then I saw this one and figured it a better place to return.

Since I was last here, I have changed careeres. A couple of weeks ago, I went through Hell on my way to Seattle. Five days without power, heat, or running water helps, especially if you have to pack all your shit in the dark and cold. At least our house was well insulated enough that it never got below 33 degrees. The ice storm that took out power for >400,000 people in the area also canceled our departure flight and delayed the second leg of our journey by two hours.
We wound up coming into Seattle in their worst snowfall in recorded history. Man, these fuckers do NOT know how to drive in the snow!!! The whole city was shut down and we were low on cash 'cuz we spent our little egg eating out and trying to stay warm and well-lit enough to pack up.
I lucked out and now have a job *real* quick, and it's one that pays me almost as much in a week as I used to earn in a month. The catch? Two hour commute and six-day workweeks at the moment, five of which are 12-1/2 hours.

Well, that's what I've been up to. What have I missed?

It's been a bit busy for us in Real Life ™. The damn "economy" is making it hard to focus on our own projects. We do still have a few die-hard players though.

Once things calm down again, Alt and I should be able to get back in the swing of things.

Doesn't that just mean you live in Iowa? Or, do you have to specifically mention Cows and Nascar?

I'm back around but I honestly don't know how long for, I typically spend about 1 hour personal browsing a day, and that's usually just keeping up with friends on e-mail and keeping side-earners ticking over. Any spare time after work and the above is spent on the girlfriend... I do get the odd bit of xbox in tho!

I'm here and there. Life well... could be better. Looking at a job working for the army maybe. I'm not in the army but I will work for them if they are going to pay me what they said they were.

I refuse to work for anyone other than companies with great benefits (like private healthcare), or banks (who pay properly)...

I've noticed that nobody's attacking me on DK... :(
